If 2020 has taught us anything so far, it is to enjoy the little things. Getting lost in a good book is one of those little things that has helped our family while away our time and has also saved our sanity more than a few times. We can’t seem to stock ‘em fast enough in our house and we are also clearing out our collection with all our extra time so we have lots of books to pass on. Because of this we have been hitting the Little Free Libraries in Loudoun on a regular basis lately. Little Free Libraries are the perfect way to pick up some new books and pass on those old ones for others in our community to enjoy.
What is a Little Free Library? Back in 2009, Todd Bol started the idea as a memorial tribute to his mother, who was a school teacher and had a passion for reading. He built a model of a little schoolhouse and put it in his yard. Todd filled the model schoolhouse with books, and neighbors would come and take books for free and leave others for people to borrow. The concept evolved into Little Free Libraries.
Here are some of the Little Free Libraries you can find around Loudoun. Please email us if you know of one not on this list so we can add it for the community to enjoy. This list was up to date at the time of publication. Please understand libraries may change and or be removed.
