Top 10 Events in Loudoun: August 7th - August 13th

August 7th - August 13th


1. Family Day at Flying Ace Farm - Join us on Sunday, August 7th, from 1-4PM for Family Day at the farm! Bring out the family for a fun day with activities for the kiddos, including a huge playground, cornhole, spikeball as well as live music, craft beer, and cocktails for adults!


2. Kids Concert Series @ One Loudoun - Join us on the Plaza for our Kids Concert Series, every Monday (weather permitting) 11am-12pm June 6-August 29. Meet new friends and groove to fun tunes from popular Kid’s Band, Rocknoceros! 


3. End of Summer Celebration @ Middleburg Library - Celebrate the end of the Summer Reading Program with food, dancing and games.


4. After-Hours Family Night @ Leesburg Animal Park -  Enjoy a summer night out with an after-hours family event at LAP!  Movie Night! "A Bugs Life"


5. We Scream For Ice Cream @ Loudoun Valley Community Center - LVCC - Treat your child to this delicious class! We’ll create a tasty new ice cream-based dessert each class. While enjoying our delicious treat we will watch a movie, playing games and enjoy meeting new friends.


6. Quilting Bee @ Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum - Join us to create 12" quilt squares.  No experience necessary.  Recommended for ages 8 and up.  Adults welcome too.  Squares will be joined and quilted for donation to The Homeless Remembrance Project for an art installation at the US Capitol on 12/21/22.


7. Storytime LIVE! @ Kiddie Academy of Leesburg - Join us at Kiddie Academy of Leesburg for our Storytime LIVE! event on Saturday, August 13th at 10am. This community event invites children and their parents to enjoy a story together - with an in-person visit from a special guest. This event is FREE and open to everyone, so bring a friend or two to share in the magic of literature! 


8. FREE Take & Make Craft from JC Penney - August's  FREE Craft is: Color A Pencil Pouch


9. TOM TEASLEY - THE ADVENTURES OF PRINCE ACHMED @ Franklin Park Arts Center -  Tom Teasley, a world-renowned percussionist, presents a live performance as the soundtrack to this 1926 film.  The first animated feature-length film, The Adventures of Prince Achmed was created by German visionary Lotte Reiniger using a silhouette technique inspired by shadow puppetry. 


10. Children's Science Center Mini Labs @ Rust Library - Stop by to participate in a variety of hands-on activities hosted by the Children's Science Center, whose mission is to instill a love of learning STEM by providing unique opportunities to explore, create and be inspired. For Grades K-5. Family members encouraged to join the fun.
