June 26th - July 2nd


1. Community Ice Cream Social @ Philomont Community Center - Celebrate Summer with Friends and Neighbors with Ice Cream!


2. Independence Day (Music & Fireworks) Festival @ Hillsboro, VA - Come celebrate Independence Day with the Town of Hillsboro & The Darby Brothers. It's sure to be an afternoon delight with plenty of food, beverage & family-fun activities. Be sure to stick around for Hillsboro's legendary fireworks spectacular! 


3. Fishing Derby! @ Leesburg Animal Park - Fishing at the pond from 11 AM – 3 PM! Bring your own pole or borrow one of ours. Catch and release only. Included with admission. Biggest catch of the day wins a prize!


4. Outdoor Butterfly Palooza @ Rust Library - How many butterflies can you name? Can you spot one in the wild? Join us for a fun way to learn about butterflies that will keep you on your toes. For Grades K-2.


5. Planetarium Programs - Summer Solstice and the Constellations @ Franklin Park Arts Center - Step inside our inflatable dome planetarium to experience the wonder of space in the interactive programs. Set up on the stage of our theater, with mostly floor seating, the program lasts about 40 minutes. 


6. Preschool on the Farm @ Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum - For the summer, come join our instructor on Wednesdays for music, games and stories. Hands on craft may be included depending on the topic of the week.


7. Storyteller Kurt Jackson @ Cascades Library - Go on an amazing journey with professional storyteller Kurt Jackson as he shares tales about life and adventure and talks about the art of storytelling. 


8.  Star Spangled Sterling @ Sterling Community Center - Join your fellow Sterlingites for an evening of fun and fireworks!


9. Decorate Your Wheels Workshop @ Franklin Park Arts Center, Purcellville - Bring your bikes and other wheels – scooters, wheelchairs, strollers, wagons – to our decorating workshop. All materials provided to ensure your wheels are “parade ready” for the Red, White & Blue Parade that begins at 7:00 pm. Meet in the pool parking lot. 


10. Movie Night in South Riding - “I do not make films primarily for children. I make them for the child in all of us, whether we be six or sixty.”- WALT DISNEY. Bring your kids and feel like a kid again yourself watching a movie outside on the BIG screen. Admission is FREE! Movies will start at sunset. Don’t forget your blanket or chairs.
