September 12 -  September 18


1. Sadie's Race @ Purcellville Train Station -  Sadie's Race is Back for 2021! 100% of proceeds go to SmileTrain. An easy and fast, certified, chip-timed 5k course race in beautiful Purcellville for a great cause! Prior to the race, we will have a kids fun run plus many activities for the whole family.


2. Family Fishing Fiesta @ Claude Moore Park - Enjoy a relaxing morning fishing at our stocked ponds. Don't worry if you don’t have equipment or experience. Staff will be available to provide assistance and bait. Poles are available on a first come, first served basis.


3. Family Yoga @ Rust Library - Family yoga classes allow everyone to practice together, no matter the age, level of experience or disability. Please bring mats and towels for all participants.


4. Family STEAM @ Gum Spring Library - Explore STEAM concepts with hands-on activities. Meet us outside in the parking lot behind Gum Spring Library. For Grades K-5. Canceled in case of rain or temperatures above 90 degrees.


5. Historic Encounters Day @ Heritage Farm Museum, Sterling - Join us for Historic Encounters Days at the Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum. We will have a different theme each month: September - Mixed Bag.


6. Astronomy Virtual Family Day - Soar Together @ Air and Space is a monthly family program from the National Air and Space Museum. Through live events and interactive activities you can do anytime, your family can explore a different air and space topic every month. In September, we’ll help you and your family get ready to gaze at the stars and enjoy all the sky has to offer. Through activities and live programs, your family will learn the basics of observing the sky, including how to prepare for observing, what amazing celestial objects you can find with just your eyes, and how to share that experience with each other. No matter where you are, you can use these simple tools to look up and explore.


7. 51st Annual Bluemont Fair - Bring your family and friends to the annual Bluemont Fair and take a day to wander through our 200-year-old village nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains. Browse our artisan crafts and enjoy local wine, beer, and music, all while experiencing the history and traditions of our area.  Grab a bite to eat or attend an archaeology demonstration while the children enjoy free games in the Children’s Fair or visit the petting zoo.  Breathe in some mountain air, have fun, learn something new, and start checking off that holiday gift list, all for less than the price of a movie. (And kids 9 and under get in free!) See you at the Fair!


8. Momsco Kids Hula Lessons with Moana - Now that she has restored the heart of Te Fiti, your favorite island princess is coming to Potomac Crossing Park. Decked out in their best tropical attire, your little voyagers will learn to dance the Hula with the, strong-willed princess, who will share adventurous tales of the ocean during an uplifting performance, reinforcing that anyone can save the day with bravery and heart. Event is outdoors.


9. Creative Gardens and Bella Ballerina Present: Groovy Movie - Parent's Night Out! - Join Creative Gardens and Bella Ballerina for an awesome opportunity at Creative Gardens Ashburn Village! Drop your kiddos off with two trusted and amazing child-focused businesses while you go out! The event will include: Storybook themed dance class, performances from the Bella Ballerina crew, dinner, and a movie chosen by our community!


10. Crossroads Music Festival 2021 in Downtown Leesburg -  The showcase of the region's top original music and songwriters. “The Sundance of original music”. All proceeds go to support charities serving children in Loudoun County.
