August 15th- August 21st


1. FREE DIY Kids Workshop - Bird Bungalow Kit - Registration Opens August 14th - Bring your child to Lowe's and they can build their feathered friends the perfect home!   


2. Loudoun Jazz Jam at Chefscape - Join us every 3rd Sunday of the month for the Loudoun Jazz Jam at our new location, Chefscape in the Village at Leesburg. Listeners and musicians of all ages are welcome. Come jam with the pros.


3. One Loudoun Carnival @ One Loudoun - The One Loudoun Carnival is back in 2021, open nightly at Uptown. All your favorite rides, carnival food, games, prizes, and more..  The Carnival is from August 11th - August 22nd.


4. Catch the Bus @ Brambleton Library, Ashburn - Get ready for school. Meet a friendly Loudoun County Public School bus driver, learn about riding the bus and take your turn boarding. Meet outside by the bus.  


5. LAST CHANCE HOO-RAH @ Douglass Community Center, Leesburg - (Ages 3-5) School is right around the corner, so let’s enjoy what is left of summer! Enjoy time with your friends playing games, making crafts, and enjoying outside water play. Bring a lunch and a drink. 


6. APPALACHIAN CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL CONCERT @ Franklin Park Arts Center - (All Ages) Franklin Park Arts Center will host an afternoon concert as part of the Appalachian Chamber Music Festival. This chamber music concert will feature 3 ensemble: 1 violin, 1 viola and 1 cello, from the Appalachian areas of Virginia and West Virginia, celebrating our folk heritage. The concert at Franklin Park Arts Center will have limited seating and will be live-streamed. 


7. Innovations in Flight at Udvar-Hazy - Explore the engineering and design innovations that have taken place during the last century of flight. Talk with pilots of vintage and modern aircraft, on display outside the Museum for one day only. This year’s event will only take place outside, with no indoor programming. Visitors are welcome to explore the inside of the Museum on their own. 


8. Kid's Triathlon in Ashburn  - Swim in the AVSP outdoor pool, bike around the lake, and run on a marked course starting and ending at the Pavilion in the Ashburn Village Kids Triathlon. All racers will receive a participation ribbon and t-shirt. 


9. Family Dinner & Dive-In Movie @ Middleburg Community Center - Closeout Summer with our much-loved family dinner & dive-in movie! Free Chick-fil-a dinner, a tie-dye station, amusements & a dive-in movie!


10. World Heritage Festival & Festival of Kites @ Ida Lee Park, Leesburg - The World Heritage Festival and Festival of Kites will take place at Ida Lee Park on August 21, 2021, from 11am - 6pm! There are several food vendors who will showcase only ethnic food, fresh smoothies, and traditional beverages. Enjoy a cultural performance show while shopping from our more than 80 artists displaying everything from fine art to jewelry, ceramics to crafts, and every creative item in between. Other vendors include area nonprofit organizations, entrepreneurs, and local businesses. The kid's zone has activities and games throughout the day. All games and activities are weather dependent and may change according to the CDC and County guidelines.
