Top 10 of the Week

May June 13th- June 19th


1. Playful Planters @ Douglass Community Center, Leesburg - (Ages 5-8) Join us for a fun-filled morning of planting in the sun! We will learn how to plant seeds and help them grow; children will bring home their own planted flower to take care of. Parent participation not required. 


2.Summer Fun Afternoon Tea @ Oatlands Historic House and Gardens -  Enjoy an array of delicious finger sandwiches, traditional English scones served with jam and clotted cream, and madeleines, all served alongside the signature Oatlands tea blend. Save room for dessert! These teas will be set up and served in a slightly different manner than previous events to ensure adherence to recommended and required health and safety protocols. With two reservation times, we can best facilitate social distancing protocols and enhanced sanitation practices. Guest and staff safety is of the utmost importance; we appreciate your understanding.


3. PLAZA AZTECA MARIACHI NIGHTS @ Village at Leesburg - Dance the night away at  Plaza Azteca! Every Wednesday from 6-9 pm enjoy live music, $5 house margarita, and $1 off all draft pints! 


4. Willowsford Exclusive Family Fun Night at Cana Vineyards! - It's FUN FRIDAY for the whole family at FPL Sponsor and Willowsford Resident-Owned, Cana Vineyards & Winery of Middleburg for this exclusive Willowsford resident FPL event on Fri., June 8, 5 - 8 p.m. Each adult will be treated to one glass of wine or beer (with two selections from Lost Barrel Brewing) to get their evening started, and additional glasses, bottles, and flight's of Cana's fabulous wine and beer from Lost Barrel Brewing will be available to purchase all throughout the event. Each kid will also receive a non-alcoholic slushie courtesy of Cana! Fellow FPL Sponsor, Loudoun Soccer Club, will be on hand to give your kiddos some fun and physical activities. ResQ BBQ Food Truck will be available for food to purchase as well!


5. Parent's Time Off @ Kidcreate Studio Ashburn - This drop-off class is great for mommies, daddies or whoever wants a little break! Let your kids express their creativity while you enjoy some time to yourself. Your young artist will work on multiple projects using a variety of different art materials. Parent's Time Off is an extremely popular class – register early to ensure your child’s spot! Every kids loves playing the board game Candy Land. In this Parent’s Time Off, we will create our own 3D version of the game on a real canvas board. 


6. AFTER-HOURS FAMILY NIGHT @ Leesburg Animal Park - Let’s kick off summer with an after-hours event at LAP! Your favorite princesses will be joining you as you explore the park for a night of stories, games, fun, and animals!


7. Loudoun Freedom Center Juneteenth Celebration: Reclaiming The Promise of A People - The Loudoun Freedom Center in partnership with the NAACP Loudoun Branch invites you to a Juneteenth Celebration & March to Freedom in Historic Downtown Leesburg, Virginia.  Light reception to immediately following the ceremony!


8. Summer Artisan & Artist Market in Sterling - Let's celebrate summer with a HUGE artisan and artist market at Twinpanzee! Please save the date and join us Saturday, June 19th from Noon to 6PM for our "Summer Artisan & Artist Market". We'll have over 30 local artisans and artists setup both inside AND outside showcasing some of the most beautiful locally made products.


9. Honeybee Heroes Day @ Great Country Farms, Bluemont - Ever wonder how the Beekeeper gets the honey out of the honeycomb? Come meet Beekeeping expert, Bill Bundy, and find out. Bundy has headed the Loudoun Beekeepers Association for years, teaches classes in beekeeping and manages all the hives at Great Country Farms which are essential to pollinating the orchards and vegetables for the farm’s CSA and pick your own fruits & vegetables. Bundy will discuss beekeeping and demonstrate how honey is extracted from the comb. Guests are invited to u-pick tart cherries which will be in season and are one of the crops the honeybees make possible at GCF. Honey from the hives at GCF is available in our Farm Market for purchase as well.


10. Little Green Thumb @ Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum - During our 6 week gardening program, dig in one of our garden beds and learn all about gardening.  You will be able to take home the fruits of your labor at the end of the program.
