School is back in session and summer is winding down, but that doesn’t mean the WATER FUN has to end. Visit Massanutten Water Park for non-stop fun for the entire family. Just about a two-hour drive from Loudoun, Massanutten Water Park is part of Massanutten Resort in the Shenandoah Valley. We just made a day trip, but you could easily spend several days here skiing, golfing, hitting the spa and adventure park, and much more.
The water park is HUGE and has indoor and outdoor features. The outdoor portion closes between Labor Day and Memorial Day, but trust me, there is enough to do inside to make it worth the visit anytime of the year! Inside you’ll find the water fortress, inflatable adventures, body slides, pools, lazy river floats, and hot tubs. You can also learn how to surf on the FlowRider® Endless Wave. Wee little visitors can visit the Frog Pond, where the water is just 12 inches deep. Find out more about each feature here.

Know Before You Go
- Check the height minimums for the rides before you go so you and your kids know which rides they will be able to enjoy.
- Annual passes are available. Word from some regulars is the best time to buy the annual passes is around the holiday season when the passes are offered at a discount.
- There are a few cafes to choose from within the park. Outside food is not allowed. We took advantage of the nice weather and enjoyed a picnic outside.
- Lockers are available to rent for the day. You’ll want one to store dry clothes, towels, keys, phones, etc.
- Life vests are available.
- You will probably stay WAY longer than you expect. It’s that fun.
I received complimentary tickets to the water park to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.
