My 31derful Story Prior to joining Thirty-One, I was enjoying being a new mom. I had served four years in the Army National Guard, completed my undergraduate degree and worked as a Human Resources Generalist/Recruiter for several years. I quit my full time job to be a stay at home mom when we had our first child and focus on my graduate degree. Six weeks before I graduated with my Master of Business degree, I had a party to support my sister-in-law’s new business with a company called… Thirty-One.
The moment I flipped through the pages of that Thirty-One catalog for the very first time, I immediately got goose bumps and truly felt like God was telling me to do this. My initial reaction was “No Way!” but you really can’t argue with God! I decided to trust, took a leap of faith and signed up that same day. I was craving something fun to do to get me out of the house and figured it was worth a shot! I officially became a Consultant that day on April 25, 2010 and had my first party a few weeks later. I had no idea how FUN it would be to do the parties and how easy it would be to sell our amazing products. They sell themselves! I got a few bookings from my first party, a few more from each of those and my business had officially begun! I promoted to Senior Consultant 3 months later and to Director 2 months after that. I promoted to Senior Director in December of 2011 and to Executive Director (level 5 of 7) in March 2012.
I’m definitely not stopping there! It has been an amazing ride and I truly am blessed. In my five and a half years with the company, I have received 4 promotions (and pay raises!), earned numerous incentives and prizes including two $2,000 Best Buy Gift Cards and five all expenses paid, week long trips including two trips to Cancun, Mexico, a trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and two trips to Riviera Maya, Mexico. I’m working on my 6th trip back to Punta Cana as we speak! During this time, I have also built a team of over 700 consultants whom I’ve enjoyed training and have done over 350 parties. I am a proud member of the Thirty-One Pink Platoon, which helps military consultants worldwide at the APO and FPO addresses we now serve and am honored to have been chosen as a trainer three years in a row at our National Conferences in both Atlanta, GA and Columbus, OH. In addition to these, I am honored to be serving a second year as one of 21 National Mentors hand selected to train our entire sales field nationwide through the new National Mentoring Program. Thirty-One continues to celebrate, encourage and reward me in so many ways.
One of the best parts about my job is that I get to choose my own work schedule! I’m a stay at home mom of two and I’ve accomplished all of this by working from home and doing 1-2 parties a week in the evenings or on the weekend. It’s so great to be able to have extra money each month to be able to pay for my daughter’s taekwondo and dance classes, my son’s preschool, date nights with my husband and family vacations each year. Thirty-One has also contributed to our greatest reward – the purchase of our Dream Home in April of 2014! The feeling of accomplishment that I get from being a Thirty-One Consultant is something I could never truly put into words.
